The authors was carried out in order to evaluate the sensitivity of the different chemotherapeutic agents including chloramphenicol to Salmonella group isolated from the stool of the patient¢¥s diarrhea (2 strains of S. typhi, 4 strains of S. pa¡þratyphi B), and from the, sewages in Busan during four months from July to October in 1974 (3 strains of S. typhi, 4. strains of S. paratyphi A).
Sensitivity test used with high concentration chemoptherapeutic agents (Paper disk used Eiken Chemical Co., Tokyo, Japan).
The results obtained were as follows:
1. S. typhi and S. paratyphi A isolated from the sewages were sensitive to sulfi¡þsoxazole and chloramphenicol. And with exeception of, the these sulfisoxazole and chloramphenicol were resistant to all used chemotherapeutic agents.
2. The sensitivity pattern of the isolated strains from the stool of the patient¢¥s diarrhea of S. typhi and S. paratyphi B were sensitive to chlorampheniol, tetracycline, dihydrostreptomycin, kanamycin and colistin, but, penicillin erythromycin, oleandomycin, leucomycin were resistant.
